The 2011 Massachusetts School Bus Driver Safety Competition is scheduled for June 12 in North Dartmouth, Mass. The first-place winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip to represent the state at the International Safety Competition in Baltimore, July 16 and 17.

The state qualifier, which will be held at Amaral Auto & Truck Driving School, Inc., is sponsored by the School Transportation Association of Massachusetts. Applications can be downloaded via the Web.

Trophies will be presented to the first, second, and third-place winning drivers as well as to the company or school district they represent. Plaques will be awarded to the fourth through tenth-place winners. The Carl "Pete" Eastman Memorial Rookie of the Year Trophy is also awarded to the highest scoring first-year contestant. Souvenir pins are presented to all contestants and judges.
