The 2017 TSD Conference will be the central hub for hundreds of transporters of students with special needs, disabilities and preschoolers as they learn the latest on operations and safety, student management, and more.
While the conference schedule is currently in development, here are some highlights:
Saturday Morning, General Session Panel: Autism Interaction Solutions
This session will focus on offering assistance to communities and first-responders by counseling them on safety and communication tactics that will lead to successful interactions with students with Autism.
Tuesday Morning, General Session: Julie Weatherly, Esq.: Legal Highlights on Special Needs
Weatherly will discuss recent cases dealing with service animals on the school bus, student bullying, personal injury cases involving school bus drivers and aides, and more.
Wednesday Morning, Closing General Session: It’s Your Turn
Some of our presenters will first report some things they learned during the conference and how they will put what they learned into practice when they return to their jobs – or how they will share the information with colleagues. Attendees will be asked to share in the same way, and to share what they would like to see added to the educational program for 2018.
A list of workshop topics is available online or in the 8-page conference overview in the November issue of School Transportation News magazine. Register by Nov. 30 to save $150 off the standard price.
