The 2010 STN EXPO carries with it the theme "Capture Knowledge." It's an apropos title considering our keynote speaker is scheduled to be John Walsh, host of "America's Most Wanted" on Fox. His show has been responsible for catching more than 1,000 fugitives over the past two decades, many of whom are child sexual predators.

But this year's theme encapsulates much more. School budgets continue to tighten, yet total student safety can’t be compromised, especially on or around the school bus or walking and biking to and from class. It’s a tricky situation for student transportation professionals. As the current leadership enters retirement age, and newer employees are rising the ranks, the need for routine training has never been so important while continuing to think out of the box, come up with new ideas and push forward through innovative practices.
