The Schenectady, N.Y., transportation management solutions company had a busy year, expanding its products and services, and increasing its staff while tallying more than 150 clients. It also reported an increase in revenue of 10 percent from the same period in 2012.

Company officials said revenues grew from $7.95 million in 2012 to $8.6 million in 2013. Transfinder President and CEO Antonio Civitella noted the company had a “record year closing” with a 23 percent increase in orders.

"While 2013 was a great year, we're keeping our feet on the gas," said Civitella, who noted the increase in demand for efficiency in operations that is driving this growth. "We've been the leader and people want to work with the leader. Ultimately, we save our clients money."

Some of Transfinder’s milestone highlights in 2013 included being named to the Inc. 5000 List as one of the fastest-growing private-sector companies for the seventh consecutive year (It also is on the Inc. 5000 Honor Roll List.); achieving two “record-breaking” quarters, reaching more than $1 million in sales; adding Puerto Rico to its list of clients; and celebrating 25 years in business with the opening of its renovated corporate headquarters in Schenectady, N.Y., in which the company and the city invested more than $7 million, among other milestones.

The company also gave back to the community last year by increasing its sponsorships. It donated to the locally based Proctors Education programs that integrate arts into schools, and donated 263 backpacks to the regional food bank for a Thanksgiving food drive.

The company enters 2014 with more milestone goals. Civitella said the plan includes expanding service offerings, entering new market segments and conducting business overseas.
