Illinois School Bus/Palos Heights elementary schools among first in nation to install ZPassTM tracking system that records when and where students enter and exit buses

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. — In Palos Heights, some elementary schools now have a way to keep track of children who ride school buses. School District 128 and Illinois School Buses are among the first in the country to utilize a combination of radio frequency identification (RFID) and GPS technology to monitor when and where students get on and off school buses.

In awarding this Reissued Patent, the U.S. Patent Office refused Netherland-based Stertil-Koni’s request to cancel all claims in Gray’s existing patent.

Cost amounts to nearly $500 for each U.S. licensed driver in one year

In a one-year period, the cost of medical care and productivity losses associated with injuries from motor vehicle crashes exceeded $99 billion, with the cost of direct medical care accounting for $17 billion, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
