WARRENVILLE, Ill. – Starting in August, two school districts in Wisconsin and Illinois will benefit from the safe and reliable student transportation provided by Durham School Services, a leader in the school bus industry.
Durham was recently awarded a three‐year contract by the School District of Beloit in Wisconsin. Durham will operate the daily routes with a fleet of 33 buses, including 30 new buses that have low carbon emissions and high fuel‐efficiency ratings. Every bus will feature digital video cameras to better manage student behavior, and the latest in GPS technology to provide real‐time data from the road and help manage fuel consumption.
"The School District of Beloit is excited to partner with Durham School Services to meet the needs of our students,” said Janelle Marotz, executive director of Business Services for the School District of Beloit. “Durham is known for superior performance in the transportation industry, and we look forward to their dedication to quality service. In partnership, our goal is to implement strategies to maximize school resources with a customer‐centered focus."
Durham also has been awarded a three‐year contract with Red Bud Community Unit School District 132 in Illinois. Durham will operate the daily routes with 23 buses. Every bus in Red Bud also will have digital video cameras and advanced GPS technology.
“Durham was the low bidder and also comes in with a strong safety record, so both of those factors were very important to us,” said Superintendent Jonathan Tallman of Red Bud CUSD. “We’re confident our student transportation is in good hands with Durham as we move forward.”
Both school districts will benefit from computerized routing software that maximizes the use of each bus, ensuring that school transportation is operated as efficiently as possible.
