WALL, N.J. - Student Transportation of America announced that more than 85 percent of its school bus technicians nationwide have been working towards certification as National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master School Bus Technicians.
The company said there are 200 company technicians total working at company contracts, meaning that about 170 of them will be taking the ASE School Bus Technician Test Series. The tests gauge proficiency in Body Systems and Special Equipment, Diesel Engines, Drive Train, Brakes, Suspension and Steering, and Electrical/Electronic Systems.
"This company sponsored ASE certification process will proudly acknowledge the skill and dedication of the men and women who service and maintain our highly complex school buses upon which we depend so much for the safe transportation of our students every day," said Joe Alesandro, vice president of fleet management. "This certification process is core to our overall company vehicle safety program and shows STA's ongoing commitment to providing our customers safe, efficient, and cost effective transportation services."
