The National Association for Pupil Transportation announced that attendees of the 2012 Summit next month in Memphis, Tenn., will walk the "red carpet" to attend the Annual Awards Banquet.

The theme of the 38th Annual Awards Banquet is "Rolling Out the Red Carpet – YOU Are the Star!" The event is scheduled for Sunday evening, Oct. 21, at the Memphis Cook Convention Center. Aubrey Lawrence, winner of the 2012 Texas Association for Pupil Transportation School Bus Safety Speech Contest, will present keynote remarks on "How to Stop Bullying...On the bus, at school, on the street."

Among the awards to be presented are: the NAPT Hall of Fame; the NAPT Distinguished Service Award; the NAPT Heroism Award (sponsored by Blue Bird Corporation); America’s Best School Bus Inspector (sponsored by Zonar Systems); America’s Best School Bus Technician (sponsored by Hydrotex); School Bus Driver Training & Safety Award (sponsored by IC Bus); and the Administrator of the Year (sponsored by School Bus Fleet).

Dinner will be served and the program will include musical accompaniment. Only full conference registrants and their guests may attend.
