Last year, School Transportation News chose to add a new focus to this and future January editions in order to bring more attention to student transportation security. The decision was made well in advance of last month's mass-shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn. STN extends its sincerest condolences to all families and friends affected and hopes this month's articles spurs much-needed debate on how to improve school security.
