Sass Joins Hendrickson as VP of Marketing

ITASCA, Ill. — Jeff Sass has joined Hendrickson in a new key role as vice president of marketing. “In this new role, Jeff will be leading Hendrickson’s marketing initiatives and responsible for creating and implementing business strategies for both product roadmaps and brands. He will drive Hendrickson’s marketing strategies, identifying new markets, and creating integrated business development strategies. Jeff will also oversee marketing and communications and lead our voice of the customer efforts, increasing our customer focused goals,” stated Gary Gerstenslager, president and chief executive officer of Hendrickson.

Walk and Bike to School Day Held Nationwide

Over 5,100 schools and hundred of thousands of students, parents and school officials participated yesterday in National Walk & Bike to School Day, an example of programs that are mostly run separately from school bus transportation.

Missouri districts are discussing running school bus operations amid low funding levels, even as the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education asked the state legislature for increased levels of school bus funding. Their goal is to cover 75 percent of district transportation costs within five years.

First Student has been Fairfield, Connecticut’s Public Schools’ student transportation provider for more than 20 years. While the district performs its own bus routing, in the summer of 2017, Fairfield hired First Student’s Planning Solutions group, a dedicated team of routing experts, to conduct a comprehensive study of its route plan.
