The National Association for Pupil Transportation has one new board member and saw a rotation of sorts amongst three current and past members following onsite and online elections last week during the organization's annual conference.

With no contenders in all but one NAPT race, many attendees left the Louisville, Ky., conference with the knowledge that Alexandra Robinson would be the association's next president-elect, former NAPT President Bill Tousley would again become the Region 3 director for the Midwest, and Launi Schmutz of Washington County (Utah) Schools would hold on to her position as NAPT director-at-large.

But, there was one newly created position as a result of a special election held this summer to amend NAPT's bylaws. Seated at the NAPT Board as the new affiliate member director is Mike Roscoe, the director of school bus products for CE White. Roscoe is no stranger to the school bus industry, serving in the public sector before moving into the private side. He has held the state pupil transportation director position in both West Virginia and Kentucky and is also an NAPT past-president and a former treasurer for the National Association for State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services.

Others running for the new board position were: Robert Scott, vice president of sales and marketing at 247 Security; Chris Thomas, the school bus manager for American Logistics Company; Dave McDonald, vice president of business development and technical specs at Rosco Mirrors; and Dwight Gleaves, vice president of sales, pupil transportation, at Hydrotex.

In returning to the Region 3 director post, Tousley succeeded Cheryl Wolf of Lafayette (Ind.) School Corporation, who decided not to seek re-election. Remaining on the NAPT board for another year are directors: David Anderson (Region 5) of Adams 12 Five Star Schools in Thornton, Colo. ; Grant Reppert (Region 2) of Gwinnett Public Schools in Georgia; Peter Manella (Region 1) of the New York Association for Pupil Transportation; and Willie Tarleton (Region 4 and NAPT secretary) of Midland ISD in West Texas.
