Blue Bird Corporation announced its dealer network will inspect certain Type C conventional Vision school buses for fuel lines that may contact and rub against the body-mounted transmission cover. The manufacturer issued a NHTSA recall of more than 500 model-year 2009 through 2012 Vision buses manufactured between Oct. 7, 2008 and Jan. 19 of this year. The buses in question are equipped with an optional fuel filter located on the driver's control module. Blue Bird said that routing and clamping variations could cause the fuel line could chafe against the transmission cover, which could result in a fuel leak and, possibly, a vehicle fire. Blue Bird said it would notify customers of the issue and that dealer inspections of the buses was expected to occur by the end of May. Owners of these buses may also contact Blue Bird at (478) 327-4236. |
