School Bus Child Passenger Safety Training at TSD Conference

Recognize Child Passenger Safety Week 2018, Sept. 23-29, by registering for specialized training available at the TSD Conference in March 2019, that teaches proper securement procedures for students with disabilities and preschoolers riding school buses.

The U.S. Department of Transportation provides a host of resources through its Child Passenger Safety Week campaign. NHTSA also enforces various Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards related to child passenger safety.

However, the correct application of child safety restraint systems, or CSRS, on school buses differs from passengers vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also sponsors the eight-hour, hands-on seminar on March 15, 2019 at the TSD Conference, to teach student transportation drivers, aides and trainers the proper use of CSRS in school buses on March 15, part of the 40-hour training required to become a national certified child passenger safety technician.

TSD Conference attendees who register for and complete the NHTSA seminar in Frisco, Texas also receive 5.5 continuing education credits (CEUs), certified by Safe Kids Worldwide. An additional registration price applies.

The NHTSA seminar is one of several specialized training sessions offered on March 15.
