Akron Brass Commemorates 9/11 Attacks

Wooster, OH, – Associates of the Akron Brass Company will “Never Forget” this tragic day in our country’s history. Commemorating the 13th anniversary of September 11th, flags lined the street outside of the company’s facility in memory of those who lost their life that fateful day.

Employees donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and placed flags on the front lawn honoring the 343 firefighters from FDNY who perished in the attacks. They also held a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. when the first tower of the World Trade Center was struck by AA Flight 11 and wore red, white and blue to show their patronage. Employees volunteered in their community and also participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Recognized as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, Akron Brass partnered with the Wooster City Fire Department and Wooster Utilities Division to paint fire hydrants across the city. Volunteers from Akron Brass gave back to the community in the form of a day’s labor. “Collaborating with our local fire department on this project was a great way to not only honor those who rose up in the time of need but to also remind us of the importance of working together to improve the world in which we live,” said Kim Morrow, Director of Marketing.

Akron Brass salutes the first responders, their families and the victims of 9/11. Please join them in remembering the spirit of unity that swept the nation in the wake of the attacks.

“We Will Never Forget!”
