Auto Safety House, Be a Leader Foundation Find Success in ‘Taking Steps Towards College Walk-a-Thon’

PHOENIX – Auto Safety House LLC (ASH) announced today that the results tabulated from the recent Be a Leader Foundation’s (BALF) “Taking Steps Towards College Success Walk-a-Thon” showed an increase in participation from the previous year’s event.

“We are pleased that year’s event achieved an increase in attendance and sponsorship participation. Auto Safety House is committed to this program and we have already initiated activities to encourage more school district and student participation for next year’s event. The mission of the Be a Leader Foundation (BALF), which is to help every Arizona student become college bound by getting focused and prepared in a number of key personal development areas, is a very compatible mission for us given our long-standing reputation for serving all Arizona school districts with their transportation needs since 1958.” stated Rudy Garcia, Auto Safety House Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

“This year’s college going Walk-a-Thon fair event at Margaret T. Hance Park included over 60 organizations (up from 38 organizations last year). Some of the organizations present included Teach for America, New Global Citizens, Arizona College Scholarship Foundation, Expect More Arizona and Stand for Children. Also present at this year’s event were Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, the Pima and Maricopa Community College Districts and each of the United States Military Academies. Total student attendance increased this year by a little over 1,000 for a total of over 3,000 participants.” stated Karla Robles, BALF Vice President of College Going Initiatives.
