Blue Bird Corporation, ROUSH CleanTech and Stenhouse Take the Win at Chicagoland Speedway

JOLIET, Ill. – This past weekend, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took the race victory in the Dollar General 300 held at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. Watching from the Blue Bird suite, approximately 80 Blue Bird dealers and personnel cheered for Stenhouse throughout the race.

Racing in a car specifically designed with a Blue Bird school bus in mind, Stenhouse consistently referred to his No. 6 Ford Mustang as a ‘bus’ throughout communications with his team during the race. Stenhouse’s eye-catching car featured graphic rub rails, warning lights, iconic school bus yellow paint, and the prominent Blue Bird and streamer. Racing to his fifth Nationwide victory of the year, Stenhouse took the lead in the 180th lap and held on to the top spot for an exciting, action-packed victory.

Since 2010 Blue Bird and ROUSH CleanTech have partnered to provide school bus fleets a clean, economical and reliable alternative to transport their students safely with propane autogas. School districts across the nation, including Hall County, Georgia; Houston Independent School District; Mesa Public Schools, Arizona; Portland Public Schools, Ore.; and Tippecanoe School Corporation in Indiana fuel with propane autogas.

stenhouse-bluebird-nascar2“What a suspenseful and exhilarating race! Blue Bird dealers and personnel are ecstatic over Stenhouse’s win in the No. 6 Blue Bird and ROUSH CleanTech sponsored car,” said Phil Horlock, president and CEO of Blue Bird Corporation. “It’s not every day that you see a NASCAR car styled to replicate a school bus and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see the Blue Bird/ROUSH CleanTech ‘bus’ in victory lane!”

“It is always great to get a new sponsor into victory lane. Blue Bird had a huge group there supporting our No. 6 team so I am glad we could put the bright yellow bus into victory lane for them,” said Stenhouse.
