Double Coin & CMA to participate in RMA Data Collection Program

Double Coin Holdings, Ltd. and its North American subsidiary CMA, LLC, along with the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), are jointly announcing their participation in a new Data Exchange Pilot Program (DEPP) to be commissioned in 2010.

The RMA has developed the DEPP as a reporting program for tire manufacturers that do not currently have U.S. based manufacturing facilities. The purpose of the reporting is to provide accurate tire shipment data to DEPP participants in a timely manner to facilitate a better understanding of the U.S. tire business.

“This opportunity allows CMA and more specifically Double Coin truck & bus radial tire products to be accounted for even more accurately in U.S. statistics,” said Aaron Murphy, Vice President of CMA. “While we realize that this is a non-membership position and the program operates independently from other RMA reporting activities, we are honored to participate in the program as well as understand the importance of the data we submit.”

Dr. Charles Cannon, RMA President & CEO, is pleased that Double Coin chose to participate in the pilot program.

“We are excited at the response to this program and we believe that it will provide participants with a clearer picture of U.S. tire shipments,” Cannon said. “Double Coin was the first company to agree to join our new program and we are grateful that they will work with us to create a useful tool for tire makers who conduct business in the U.S.”

The RMA is a trade association representing tire and rubber manufacturers in the United States. Collectively, the RMA membership represents nearly 90% of the U.S. domestic tire business. All current RMA member companies are eligible to participate in the program. The DEPP program is a non-membership based program and is independent from all other RMA affiliations.
