First Student Charter Provides Shuttle Service for 2011 Amgen Tour of California

CINCINNATI — First Student Charter Bus Rental, a division of First Student, the nation’s leader in student transportation, provided shuttle service for the 2011 Amgen Tour of California, the largest cycling event in North America.

The company was chosen to provide transportation to VIPs, media and staff during Stage 7 of the Tour event, the highest attended stage of the race, held in late May. First Student provided 18 mini buses for eight hours to shuttle more than 600 passengers to and from Mt. Baldy in the Angeles National Forest to view the race.

With access to a fleet of approximately 60,000 buses, First Student Charter Bus Rental has safe, reliable buses available throughout the United States and Canada to provide transportation to a variety of events. From sporting events and corporate outings to special events and school programs, First Student has affordable transportation solutions for any size event. The company’s charter service division utilizes First Student’s highly-trained drivers, who are entrusted to transport six million students to and from school each day. These experienced drivers are locals who know their communities and are dedicated to providing safe transportation.

The company has supplied charter service for such recent events as the Daytona 500, 2010 Rock N’ Roll Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans and the 2010 U.S. Senior and Women’s Open golf events.
