Sixty school bus technicians from all over the United States and Canada attended the IC Bus University session held the week of March 15th at the IC Tulsa Bus Plant in Tulsa, OK. Attendees were provided up to 43 hours of instruction on bus maintenance, engines, bus electrical, Ricon Lifts, Braun lifts, Allison Transmissions, Specialty Manufacturing as well other areas of concern to today’s school bus technician.
John Thompson, Director of Training for IC Bus said, “We had tremendous interest in this session. The March session filled quickly and we turned a number of people away because we filled so fast.” We really appreciate the interest in our training program. Based upon the feedback that we received, this session of IC Bus University was a tremendous success.”
Due to the interest in IC Bus University, there is another session scheduled for the week of May 3rd, 2010. School bus technicians interested in the May 3rd session should contact their IC Bus dealer for registration information.
Attendees should plan to arrive in Tulsa, OK by noon on Monday, May 3rd. Attendees will be responsible for transportation to and from Tulsa, their hotel ($89 per night and includes breakfast), an evening meal and the class fee of $300.
IC Bus will furnish daily transportation, including airport pick up and return. Return flights should be scheduled after 1:00 pm on Friday, May 7th. Lunch will be provided Monday through Friday as well as a guided plant tour, instruction on engines, bus electrical and bus maintenance, evening classes on full power brakes, air conditioning, Ricon and Bruan lifts, lunch presentations on Koroseal maintenance, Specialty Manufacturing and paint repair as well as an additional four hour class on Allison Transmissions for up to 43 hours of total instruction as well as all books and materials.
