Warwick, NY – New York City-based Logan Bus Company recently purchased 55 new Trans Tech Trans Star Type-A school buses to keep up with the company’s rapid growth and continue to meet its customers’ needs for safety, versatility and efficiency.
The Trans Star is a customer-inspired 20-passenger, dual-rear-wheel school bus, that combines Trans Tech’s signature aerodynamic design with the efficiency of the Ford Transit platform.
“Logan Bus Company has grown substantially over the last few years and updating our fleet with Trans Tech’s Trans Star shows our commitment to our customers by having the safest, most modern, and efficient school buses available out on the road,” said Logan Bus Company Director of Contracts & Business Development, Corey Muirhead. “Our schools love the Trans Star; and with potential customers telling us that it is the nicest looking school bus they have ever seen, having the Trans Star in our fleet is great for bringing in new business too.”
Trans Tech’s Trans Star buses purchased by Logan Bus Company are equipped with Ford’s optional 3.2L Power Stroke inline 5 cylinder 185 HP clean-diesel engine. The company says the clean-diesel Trans Star integrates perfectly with their current operation. Logan Bus Company prefers the clean-diesel engines because of their durability and they also help to green-up their fleet given the near zero emissions of today’s diesel engines.
Built on the renowned Ford Transit chassis, The Trans Star also comes standard with Trans Tech’s signature aerodynamic design, industry-leading fuel efficiency, pan-formed galvanized steel floors for toughness, and the company’s Versa-Track ® seating system for maximum versatility, which is vital when providing service in New York City.
“Our drivers are thrilled with the Trans Star’s exceptional visibility, higher interior, comfort, and maneuverability,” said Logan Bus Company Operations Manager, Michael Cordiello. “The dual-wheel Trans Star is narrow like a single-wheel, making it easier for our drivers to negotiate the congested streets in New York City. The Dual Air Conditioning is an excellent feature too, very beneficial, especially during the warmer months. It truly is a bus drivers’ bus.”
Logan Bus Company purchased the Trans Star buses through Leonard Bus Sales, which has a Trans Tech-only facility in Garden City Park, New York. Logan Bus Company took its first delivery of the Trans Star in February and delivery of at least four to five buses will be made every week until the order for all 55 buses is filled.
“It is extremely rewarding to see all the hard work we put into designing, engineering and manufacturing the Trans Star lead to such an overwhelmingly positive reception,” said Trans Tech President, John Phraner “It motivates us to do even better, to keep listening closely to our customers and to continue to surpass all market expectations by building the safest, most efficient, and toughest school buses on the road.”
“Trans Tech listens to its customers and implements the changes and updates that we really need,” concluded Muirhead. “They know exactly what it takes to make a great school bus and the Trans Star is further proof of that – it is a phenomenal school bus.”
Trans Tech manufactures industry-leading, Altoona-tested, Type-A school buses, Multifunction School Activity Buses and commercial buses. Trans Tech offers the industry’s only narrow-body dual-wheel along with a family of single and dual wheel models. The company is known for its innovative and fuel-efficient conversion designs. Trans Tech meets ever-changing customer demand with its Versa-Track seating system ranging from 9 to 30 passengers. Trans Tech buses are tough and designed for safety with pan-formed floors and bolted safety-cages. Trans Tech is bringing green solutions to the market with aerodynamic designs and its all-electric eSeries.
