Safety Vision, LLC and School Transportation News EXPO Both Celebrate 20th Birthdays in July

HOUSTON — As Safety Vision, LLC achieves 20 continuous years of revenue growth and operations in 2013, the company will celebrate this milestone on July 23 at the STN Expo inside the glamorous Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nev. Expo attendees who visit Safety Vision’s exhibit in Space G of the Silver State Pavilion from 12 to 5 p.m. will be treated to a complimentary flute of champagne in appreciation for 20 years of patronage.

When Safety Vision began back in 1993, it was a different operation than it is today. “Working out of my apartment reselling VCR and analog technology, it was a one-man show. It was really just me and a cool new product that I believed in,” said Bruce Smith, founder and CEO of the privately held business.

The company grew out of a chance meeting on the trade show floor in 1992 when Smith came across video and camera solutions for commercial trucks, signaling the launch of a new mobile safety and surveillance industry in North America. In 1993, he formed Safety Vision to distribute rear-view video camera equipment for mobile fleet clientele. Now Safety Vision has offices holding more than seven million dollars of inventory in thirty five thousand square feet of warehouse and office space as well as a full-time staff of one hundred and twenty—headquartered in Houston, Texas, with offices in California, Missouri, Oregon, and Canada

The STN Expo, hosted by School Transportation News publications, is celebrating its own twentieth birthday this year. The STN Expo is an annual conference and expo that provides a platform for pupil transportation professionals to engage in continuous learning and networking.

“2013 is a major milestone for Safety Vision, as we celebrate our 20th year in business. We are tremendously proud of our people and our company,” said Smith, founder and CEO. “Our thanks go out to all of our people, customers, suppliers, communities and everyone else who has played a part in making the past 20 years so successful and enjoyable.”

“It’s our people and our service culture that make Safety Vision unique in our market,” he continued, “Literally every day, I get to see our Core Values in action.  We believe we are well-prepared for the next 20 years and I can’t wait to see where they take us.”
