Thomas Built Buses Announces New 7-Year Coverage on Allison Transmission Products

RICHMOND, Va. — Nov. 10, 2015 — Thomas Built Buses, manufacturer of some of the most reliable and durable school buses on the market, has announced they will provide their customers with an additional two years of transmission coverage on selected Allison Transmission products, for a total of seven years. This additional transmission coverage will be provided on all school buses built in calendar year 2016 that include the 2500 PTS, 2550 PTS, 2300 PTS or 2350 PTS.

Beginning with buses built on or after January 1, 2016, Thomas Built’s transmission coverage will provide a total of seven-years of industry leading warranty coverage, rather than the previous five-year warranty. This offering is for a limited-time at no additional cost and is available only for models manufactured January through December 2016 and ordered through Thomas Built Buses.

“Allison Transmission, like Thomas Built Buses, continually focuses on providing an industry-leading quality product with a low total cost of ownership,” said Caley Edgerly, president and CEO of Thomas Built Buses. “This additional coverage is just another way Thomas Built Buses is making a commitment to the lowest total cost of ownership for our customers.”

“Both Thomas Built Buses and Allison Transmission have had a rich 100-year history,” explains Edgerly. “Thomas Built Buses is thrilled to offer a differentiated school bus product to provide our customers with what they demand. No other school bus or transmission manufacturer is as dedicated to this market as Thomas Built Buses and Allison Transmission.”
