Accuride Increases Brake Slack Adjuster Warranty

Accuride announced that it has extended its warranty on Gunite Automatic Slack Adjusters for school buses to cover four years or 400,000 miles as a result of improved manufacturing processes.

The new warranty goes into effect April 6, 2015. The previous Gunite warranty was for three years/300,000 miles.

A slack adjuster is an adjusting nut on the backside of the brake drum used for adjusting the brakes.

Scott Hazlett, Accuride Senior Vice President/Operations, said the warranty extension follows the company’s investment in its automated and state-of-the-art slack-adjuster assembly operations in Rockford, Illinois, facility has “significantly” improved quality processes for Gunite standard and Gunite 2000 ASA components.

“We are able to achieve tighter production tolerances than ever before, giving us even greater confidence in the ability of our automatic slack adjusters to dependably perform as promised, mile after mile,” he explained. “As a result, we are passing along that confidence to our customers by increasing the warranty coverage on these products to industry-best levels.”
