Blue Bird announced that Dale Wendell has joined the company to lead global sales and marketing efforts.
Wendell rose the ranks at Ford Motor Company during a nearly 30-year career that culminated with him serving as the company’s vice president of sales. He was also the executive director and general manager of Ford’s Worldwide Direct Market Operations. Most recently, Wendell has served as the vice president of manufacturing relations at the Automotive Broadcasting Network.
Since leaving Ford in 2003, Wendell has also consulted for several companies in the automotive industry including Blue Bird, where he assisted with sales beginning this past April.
“We are pleased to welcome Dale Wendell to the Blue Bird family. Dale’s experience and strong leadership will be a great benefit to both Blue Bird and our global dealer network,” said Phil Horlock, president and CEO of Blue Bird Corporation, in a statement.
Wendell has a master’s degree in economics from Western Michigan University and also graduated from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business as part of the Ford Executive Education Programs.
