IC Bus Recalls Wheelchair-Equipped Conventional School Buses

Navistar, the parent company of IC Bus, announced it has fixed four model year 2007, 2009 and 2011 CE Series school buses with wheelchair lifts.

IC Bus is the latest school bus manufacturer to file a NHTSA recall campaign targeting Braun’s Century-2 and Vista-2 lifts because the roll stop latches on the outer barrier may become bent or misaligned with frequent use. This can enable a wheelchair occupant to override the latched roll stop in the elevated position and to fall.

Navistar added that owners of the four buses need not be notified because the buses in question have already been fixed.
