NAPT Recognizes Latest Special Needs Transportation Endorsement Recipient

The number of student transporters to complete NAPT’s Special Needs Training Program is up to 20.

NAPT announced that Cindy Cain, a regional transportation supervisor for First Canada in Burlington, Ontario, and Kathy Fureaux, executive director of the Pupil Transportation Safety Insitute, are the most recent endorsement recipients. An NAPT spokesperson said Cain completed all six special needs courses and two electives at last year’s Transporting Students with Disabilities and Preschoolers (TSD) National Conference in Kansas City. Furneaux completed her required courses at TSD last year as well as at NAPT’s annual Summit last fall in Cincinnati.

The NAPT special needs curriculum offers courses in a variety of settings, including a school bus roadeo and a trade show of school transportation products and services. The two elective courses are offered through NAPT’s Professional Development Series (PDS) Program.
