Sansaricq Named New Director of Pupil Transportation for N.Y. State Education Department

Mary Sansaricq is replacing recently retired Marion Edick as the New York state director, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) announced on Feb. 2.

Sansaricq was promoted in recognition of her previous service in the NYSED’s Pupil Transportation Unit and Office of Educational Management Services, a statement said. She is a member of the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and steward of the commissioner’s School Bus Driver Instructor Advisory Committee. Dr. John King has replaced David Steiner as commissioner.

She has more than 20 years of experience as an educator and administrator. NYSED said Sansaricq “brings a wealth of professional and personal knowledge, skills and experience to help guide the pupil transportation community of New York.”

Edick announced her retirement at the end of last year, culminating a 16-year career as state director.
