Student Transportation Inc., the third-largest private provider of contracted school bus service to districts nationwide, launched a redesigned website to coincide with the start of the new school year.
STI said it focused on not only freshen up the look and feel of the site and enhanced the navigation but also added video, photo galleries and links to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube social networking and media sites.
“We’d like to welcome everybody back to school and are pleased to announce our online expansion as the new school year commences,” stated Patrick Gallagher, STI marketing manager. “The new layout is easy to navigate, and includes updated information on our transportation services with rotating video clips that highlight our company’s family culture and history.”
That history began in 1997, when Chairman and CEO Denis Gallagher founded the company shortly after leaving school bus contractor Laidlaw Education Services, which was acquired by First Student a decade later.
The website highlights the company’s core services, including complete or partial fleet and route management, charter service, direct-to-parent contracting services via STI’s “SchoolWheels Direct” service, and used bus sales. A section also connects business news to company investors.
The redesigned also features a new “Safety” section that outlines the training company bus drivers, monitors and mechanics receive as well as company policies and procedures for regular bus maintenance. Additionally, STI buses come equipped with GPS, air conditioning, digital camera systems and Child Check-Mate reminders systems. At an extra cost, school districts can also order buses with SafeStop, a security feature that allows parents to track when and where their children get on and off the bus as well as to know the bus’ location.
“We hope our customers, potential customers and investors can come learn more about the great things happening at STI,” added Gallagher.
