Small Recall by Thomas Built Buses Targets Front Suspension

Daimler Trucks North America announced a recall of two Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses to fix the front axle.

Daimler said th Detroit Axle brand front axle knuckles on the two models manufactured from April 18 through May 11 of this year may have a a machining error in the wheel bearing area. This may lead to a premature spindle failure, which could result in a loss of vehicle control.

Daimler said it is notifying the owners of the two vehicles and that dealers will inspect and replace the affected components free of charge. The NHTSA recall is expected to begin by Aug. 11.
