UltraLED Lighting Adds to Product Line with Acquisition

UltraLED Lighting Inc., a separate corporation formed last year by the owners of Heavy Duty Bus Parts and its online subsidiary DirectBus.com, announced it acquired a privately held LED lighting company to expand across all fleet vehicle categories across the 12-volt industry.

The name of the purchased company was not disclosed. UltraLED now offers more than 75 new products and a total of 110 for heavy-, medium- and light-duty trucks, aftermarket applications, school buses, transit, motorcoaches and rail. By April 1, the company plans to offer close to 150 products, according to a spokesman.

“UltraLED has 16 years manufacturing experience in fleet vehicle lighting, primarily in the school bus industry. This strategic acquisition significantly increases our product offering across several markets and positions UltraLED Lighting to be a major player within all fleet vehicle lighting industries,” said Branden Smeltzer, general manager of UltraLED Lighting, Inc.

Formerly a product offering of Heavy Duty Bus Parts, UltraLED formed as a separate corporation in October. Separately, DirectBusParts.com, is also a corporation in addition to the website that sells aftermarket products distributed by Heavy Duty Bus Parts.
