Upcoming Webinar Discusses Pupil Transportation Distracted Driving Prevention

SEATTLE – Zonar is sponsoring a webinar on March 25 featuring director of school transportation services for the San Juan Unified School District and president of the California Association of School Transportation Officials (CASTO), Nikki Hughes. “Distracted Driving: Maintaining Control and Increasing Safety” will discuss methods to prevent distracted driving and train school bus drivers to increase safety.

While many school bus drivers may perceive driving as a routine activity, attentive driving is critical as traffic and surrounding environments change constantly. Interactions with other motorists and loud noises on the bus are common distractions for drivers. Drivers must always be prepared to react so they can operate their bus safely and efficiently. The “Distracted Driving” webinar will help pupil fleet managers and trainers better prepare drivers for managing distractions during their routes.

The webinar is sponsored by Zonar, a leading provider of pupil transportation telematics including verified electronic vehicle inspections, fleet GPS tracking, pupil ridership tracking and remote diagnostics systems. The “Distracted Driving: Maintaining Control and Increasing Safety” webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25 at 1:00 PM PST.

Event registration is free and more details are available at http://www.zonarsystems.com/webinars/marchwebinar.html.
