Student Brings Unloaded Gun onto Louisiana School Bus

A 7-year-old student brought an unloaded gun onto a Baker, Louisiana school bus on Friday, reported WBRZ2.

Another student reportedly noticed the situation and reported it. The student said an unknown other student gave them the gun, according to news reports.

Meanwhile, WAFB9 reported the school bus driver confiscated the weapon after it was discovered in the student’s book bag. The gun was turned over to school administrators and then the police.

WBRZ2 reported the .32 pistol was brought from home. The school district is reportedly following the weapons policy of the City of Baker School System handbook.

The child is reportedly not being placed under arrest.
