Roundup: Driver Killed, Safer Bus Unveiled and More

Tragedy struck a small township outside of New York after a crash with a truck killed a school bus driver. The truck drifted into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision that left the driver dead. No students were harmed. The truck driver is expected to survive and will face charges.

Safety and school buses are words that go hand in hand, and the pairing brings great relief to parents. A school bus in Grant, Michigan, became a real stick in the mud when it attempted to avoid one obstacle on to get lodged in another. A wash out forced a driver to go off-roading where the bus got trapped, forcing students in Grant, Michigan to evacuate as the vehicle began to sink into the mud.

Colorado parents are peeved about proposed plans to remove bus stops along dirt roads in an effort to save money by the school district. The coming school year will force students to hike to the closest paved road in order to be picked up by their school bus.
