ROUSHCleanTech Liquid Propane Ford E-350 On Display at International Builders Show

Though a bit different than the Micro Bird propane Type A coming to market, attendees at the NAHB International Builders Show this week will witness a close cousin in ROUSHCleanTech’s new liquid propane-autogas-powered Ford E-350 5.4 L V8 cutaway van that is featured on the DIY Network’s “Man Caves” television show.

Readers will recall that ROUSH is also parntering with Ford and the joint venture between Blue Bird and Girardin to produce the chassis for the Micro Bird propane Type A school bus. The Type A, which has received EPA certification as well as crash-test certification, is built on an E-450 cutaway 6.8L V10.

In a statement today, the companies added that the Micro Bird is rolling off the production line this month. The first four Micro Birds have already been in use at Wayne Central Schools in Ontario Center, N.Y., and more are destined for a customer in Texas.

For “Man Caves,” Knapheide of Quincy, Ill., is supplying the utility van body on the E-350.

The International Builders Show runs from Jan. 12-15 in Orlando, Fla.
