AngelTrax Unveils Two New Additions to MDVR HC Series Line

NEWTON, Ala. – AngelTrax today announced the expansion of its hugely successful Hybrid Component Series mobile DVR line to include the Hybrid Quest and Hybrid Vault. These hot-swappable, component based mobile DVRs feature both wireless compatibility, capable of live video streaming and instant system health checks, enabling fleet directors to gain enhanced insight into their fleet operations.

The new Hybrid Quest and Vault include the same durable metal enclosure component design, with an additional dock for Wi-Fi/WiMAX connectivity and a high-performance main board with SD card back-up storage capability. The Hybrid Vault also features two hard drive docks, extending storage capacity.

“We took the transportation industry’s best mobile DVR and made it even better,” said Richie Howard, AngelTrax’s president. “With wireless compatibility, instant DVR health checks, increased storage potential, live video streaming and signature hot-swapping component design, the Hybrid Quest and Vault offer customers an all-in-one surveillance solution.”

The mobile DVR’s Wi-Fi and WiMAX ready WLAN board set a new benchmark for the Hybrid Component Series DVR performance. Wireless connectivity offers fleet managers the power to stream live audio and video data, download streamed video files and receive system health notifications. Health notifications include vehicle number, date, time, event type and GPS coordinates that links to a Google Map overlay. Fleet managers can create custom health reports that include features such as speed status, vehicle collision and DVR boot-up, providing faster response times and simplified fleet management.

The Hybrid Quest and Hybrid Vault’s wireless technology can be used to provide secure 3G/4G Wi-Fi access for passengers onboard. Encrypted video files and a secure network protect the wireless transmission of audio and video data, preventing unauthorized access. Live surveillance footage can only be viewed using AngelTrax’s proprietary playback software.

The Hybrid Quest and Hybrid Vault are based on AngelTrax’s patent-pending removable component design, first developed for the Hybrid Component Series mobile DVR line, which allows for unmatched flexibility and field serviceability. Encased in a compact, vandal-proof lockable housing, removable trays house each individual component inside each unit. The main board, hard drive(s), WLAN board, Virtual Synchronized Mapping board and power supply board can all be accessed, upgraded and serviced without uninstalling the DVR unit. Designed with anti-vibration technology to simulate a floating environment for the hard drive, the casing protects the unit from the bumps, vibrations and jolts a vehicle endures.

The Hybrid Quest and Vault are both compatible with AngelTrax’s strategic partner, Zonar Systems, V2J live tracking and fleet management device. The AngelTrax DVR communicates performance data to the V2J, enabling fleet directors to obtain critical, real-time surveillance system condition and vehicle location. Secured data can be accessed and recorded via AngelTrax’s Web interface.

Every Hybrid Quest comes standard with four high resolution, audio and video channels, a 320GB SATA hard drive with tray and built-in reader, vandal proof built-in lock box, driver operated panic button and MPEG4/JPEG swappable image compression. The convenient driver-operated panic button, which features three system check lights and a panic event push button, enables operators the control to mark a panic event on the DVR and confirm the system is properly functioning.

Hybrid Vault comes standard with eight high resolution, audio and video channels, two 320GB SATA hard drives with trays and built-in readers, vandal proof built-in lock box, driver operated panic button and MPEG4/JPEG swappable image compression. Dual hard drive docks allow for infinite storage possibilities, including SATA solid state hard drives and data storage capacity into the terabytes.

Hybrid Quest and Hybrid Vault are both compatible with all AngelTrax high-resolution cameras and can be installed on school buses, paratransit services, mass transit systems and locomotives.
