Blue Bird Extends Allison 7-Year Extended Warranty into 2018

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Blue Bird, North America’s leading school bus manufacturer, announced that as of January 1, they will continue to offer the industry’s best warranty for their Allison Transmission equipped diesel buses in 2018.

The warranty coverage—which includes 7 years, unlimited miles—was also offered in 2017, and applies to all Blue Bird buses using the Allison Transmission 2500 and 2550 Pupil Transportation Series models. These Allison transmissions carry a comprehensive warranty, which covers 100 percent of parts and labor.

“The continuation of this extended warranty adds even more value to our bus offerings,” says Mark Terry, chief commercial officer at Blue Bird Corporation. “A standard extended warranty on a reliable transmission, such as Allison, adds to the reliability of our buses, which transport our most precious cargo every day.”

The extended seven-year warranty comes standard on all new Blue Bird buses shipped from the factory from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018. In order for customers to maintain the additional coverage, the terms and conditions of the Allison Transmission Extended Transmission Coverage must be followed, which includes without limitation the use of TES 295 Approved Fluids and the use of Allison Genuine Parts.

“Allison is excited to partner with Blue Bird to extend best-in-class transmission coverage to the school bus market,” said Heidi Schutte, vice president of sales for the Americas with Allison Transmission. “Allison is committed to providing our customers with the greatest possible value by combining the proven durability of Allison products with seven-year coverage for greater peace of mind.”

The extended standard Allison transmission warranty is now in effect. To learn more about this offering, visit www.blue-bird.com
