Durham Mechanic from Keller Facility Takes Second Place at Texas State Competition

WARRENVILLE, Ill. — Durham School Services, a national leader in student transportation, is proud to announce that one of its Texas mechanics finished among the state’s top performers in the Texas Association of School Bus Technicians best-tech competition in June. Eduardo Bibiloni from Durham’s facility in Keller placed second among 75 mechanics at the San Antonio event.

“Eduardo did a remarkable job and made us all proud,” said Durham Shop Supervisor James Huff. “It was a highly competitive event that included skilled technicians from across the state.”

The school bus mechanics demonstrated their expertise through a written assessment and hands-on testing that consisted of three timed stations. At the first station, the technicians encountered a malfunctioning wheelchair lift and had to identify the cause, demonstrating their ability to use a multimeter and read schematics. At the second station, the technicians assembled a front-wheel hub while explaining the procedure to a judge. The third station presented an air-conditioning system that was not cooling.

Bibiloni, a resident of Fort Worth, has been repairing and maintaining Durham school buses since December. He is a graduate of the Universal Technical Institute, the premier school in the country for mechanic training.

“There’s no doubt that Eduardo is a valuable member of our shop team,” Huff said. “He stays current on the newest buses and is committed to keeping the fleet running smoothly.”
