First Student Driver David Vargas Honored for Providing Outstanding Service to Students in Trumbull

CINCINNATI— Trumbull (Conn.) Parents of Students with Learning Disabilities (TPSLD) have named First Student school bus driver David Vargas a winner of the organization’s 2010 “Above and Beyond” Award. Vargas, a special needs bus driver for Frenchtown Elementary School, is recognized for his exceptional performance in providing transportation to students in the community with learning disabilities.

“David is an outstanding driver who adores his job,” said Marge Tymula, contract manager, First Student. “He is dedicated to the students he transports, and we are so pleased that he is being recognized for his service to the community.”

The TPSLD annually honors individuals within the community, such as teachers, coaches, volunteers and parents, who improve the lives of students with learning disabilities. Recipients are recognized for their efforts to help these students lead full lives. This year marks the fourth annual presentation of the “Above and Beyond” Award.

Vargas will receive his award on June 2 at the Board of Education meeting in Trumbull.
