Two-Way Exchange Makes for Better Partnership with Fleet Businesses
DETROIT – Placing great emphasis on their relationship with the customer, General Motors Fleet and Commercial Operations established the GM Sounding Boards. The three sounding boards – North American Commercial Sounding Board, Global Sounding Board and the Law Enforcement Product Council – are focused on sharing opinions, testing products and ultimately helping GM Fleet and Commercial meet the needs of their customers.
The Sounding Boards are made up of fleet professionals from all areas of the industry; from customers who own, operate and manage both GM and non-GM fleets, to industry suppliers and fleet media. Meeting four times per year, the Sounding Boards have open and candid conversations providing input that helps in the decision making process from design to packaging.
“I’m looking forward to working with this team of fleet professionals,” said Brian Small, Fleet and Commercial Operations executive director. “One of the first things that I did when I joined Fleet and Commercial was schedule time with one of our Sounding Boards because I see them as a valuable partner in continually improving our products and the way we do business.”
During their quarterly meetings, the Sounding Board identify and resolve fleet issues, provide input from the fleet customer’s perspective on future GM fleet decisions, and test products and provide feedback.
“The board is an important tool for GM to engage in a two-way conversation with and gather information from a broad base of their fleet customers,” said Michael D. Sims, Fleet Operations Manager for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. “We’re here to represent our fellow fleet professionals”
Fleet managers are encouraged to contact Sounding Board members to convey topics and ideas they would like covered during the quarterly meetings. By visiting the Sounding Board section under the resources area of gmfleet.com, they can submit their information through the Action Center Contact Us email form or by contacting a GM Sounding Board member.
