Illinois Central School Bus/North America Central School Bus Continues Growth

Illinois Central School Bus/North America Central School Bus has experienced another year of record-breaking growth. For the second year in a row, ICSB/NACSB has had the largest increase in fleet size by the number of buses in the country.

Over 1,100 buses have been added to its fleet, bringing its numbers to 3,400 buses, 150 contracts, and transporting over 200,000 students. The company has grown from 39 to 54 locations, increased from 4 regions to 7, and now serves schools in Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts. The company, founded in 2004 by Bruce Barr, is now the fifth largest school bus contractor in the country.

ICSB/NACSB has greatly expanded its top management staff as well with an array of long-experienced professionals. The following professionals have recently been added:

Ron Howard – chief operations officer
Frank Ciccarella – director of safety
Steve Nordtvedt – director of maintenance
Rick Vilines – vice president of human resources
Gary Stephenson – business development manager for the eastern region
Pat Earley – chief financial officer

Bruce Barr remains president and CEO, and Dan O’Brien continues on as business development manager. A Versa Trans computerized routing team has also been put in place to further enhance the level of service to client schools.
