Krapf School Bus Announces Two Key Promotions

Jim Folkes was recently named chief operating officer for Krapf School Bus, a division of the Krapf Bus Companies. Jim joined Krapf’s in 2010, and has more than 20 years of experience in the school transportation industry. As COO, he will be responsible for all hands-on operational aspects of the company and will be instrumental in seeking new business opportunities, and positioning our organization for growth.

Most recently, Jim was vice president of Krapf School Bus. He promotes and fosters Operations Excellence, Service Excellence and Maintenance Excellence throughout the company. He earned his MBA from Temple University.

Shawn McGlinchey, also of Krapf Bus Companies, was recently promoted to vice president of risk management. Shawn joined Krapf’s in 2010 as director of risk management, following 23 years of extensive experience in the safety/risk management arena with Harleysville Insurance Company. As Krapf’s VP of risk management, he will continue to be responsible for the oversight of the safety and risk management activities and the corporate commercial insurance programs for all entities of the Krapf Bus Companies.

A retired United States Coast Guard officer, Shawn holds safety professional designations from New York, Arkansas and Pennsylvania, and is a licensed commercial lines insurance broker. Additionally, he is a National Safety Council certified defensive driving instructor and a qualified planning section chief for federal responses.
