Landmark Acquires Two Bus Lines in Northern Ontario

AURORA, Ontario – Landmark Student Transportation announced today that it has acquired Northway Bus Lines Inc., in Val Caron, Ontario, and Alouette Bus Lines Ltd. in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. The transfer took place on Nov. 1.

Both businesses were owned by Daniel Joanis, a former director of the Ontario School Bus Association who has been active in advancing the interests of the Ontario student transportation industry.

“I’m pleased to be turning the businesses over to Landmark,” said Mr. Joanis. “They were the right match for us. I’m comfortable that Northway and Alouette are in capable hands.”

About 200 individuals are employed by the two companies. All staff will stay on with the new owners.

“We’re proud to have acquired Northway and Alouette,” said John Turney, vice president of operations for Landmark. “Both businesses have built a solid reputation with Sudbury Student Services Consortium and Nipissing Parry Sound Student Transportation Services. We look forward to continuing their tradition of safety and reliability.”
