Nelson Bus Service to Provide Buses for Police Training at irTactical Active Shooter Even in June

WHITEWATER, Wis. — Nelson Bus Service out of Whitewater, Wis., will be providing two school buses for use with police training exercises at the irTactical Active Shooter event in June. They are loaning two standard sized buses: one normal bus and another with a special-needs layout including a wheel chair lift and adjusted seating. The two types of buses provide more variety and realism for the officers training in this particular scenario.

The vehicles are being used by police training for active shooter scenarios that might occur on these types of buses. The long and obstructive nature of school buses can make rescue attempts difficult for responding officers. This training will educate them on techniques they normally might not be aware of.

“The buses add an uncommon element to the type of training attendees will receive,” states Rick Jensen, President of irTactical. “Our goal is to provide a very realistic training environment and these buses inch us closer to that goal.”

The irTactical Active Shooter Training event is a police training event being held in Whitewater, Wisconsin this June 8-10. The event is taking place on the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater campus, and focuses on school shooters and rapid response situations. Dozens of officers will be on site to receive top notch training that revolves around the irTactical system.
