N.Y.C. Receives Buses with Road Speed Limiters

COLFAX, Calif. – InterMotive is proud to announce that New York City Transit has started taking delivery of 2009 cutaway buses equipped with Speed Sentinel II (SS II) – road speed limiter. SS II not only limits vehicle road speed without limiting engine output, but it also has theft deterrent and override features.

Benefits of using SS II to drive slower include improved fuel economy (every 5 mph over 60 mph reduces mpg by 7 percent), safety (speeding nearly triples your odds of an accident), and reducing green house gas emissions. NYCT has been running Crown Vic’s equipped with SS II for over a year.

InterMo tive is an ISO 9001:2000 registered company based out of Colfax, Calif., that designs and manufactures vehicle control systems for the transit, school bus, personal-use, work truck, and emergency response markets.
