Riding in 1927 Style: Dealership Receives Blue Bird No. 1 Replica

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – When Lane Southern Orchards gave tours to visitors, they typically took place in a specialized cart pulled by a truck. Not anymore. Blue Bird proudly presented Lane Southern Orchards a custom-built replica of the Blue Bird No.1 school bus specially crafted to accommodate tour groups.

The grand unveiling and presentation ceremony took place at Lane Southern Orchards, located in Fort Valley, Georgia on Tuesday, May 4.

“As two companies with a long legacy in this area, Blue Bird is proud to provide a tour bus that will not only assist Lane Southern Orchards with their tours, but also provide visitors with a bit of history into the bus that started it all for Blue Bird. The Blue Bird #1 replica tour bus is a win-win for Blue Bird, Lane Southern Orchard, and the entire community,” states Greg Bennett, President and CEO of Blue Bird.

The replica Blue Bird #1 is one of two buses being built for Lane Southern Orchards, with the second bus currently under construction. As major employers in their region, both companies are deeply seeded in the history of Peach County and Central Georgia and for generations have played an integral part to the daily lives of residents.
