Rotary Lift Introduces New Online Training Course: ‘Sustainability and Vehicle Maintenance Lifts’

Madison, Ind. – As interest in “green” government buildings grows, so does the desire for education about the environmental impact of equipment used in these facilities. To help architects designing government fleet maintenance garages learn more about environmentally friendly equipment options, Rotary Lift has developed a new American Institute of Architects (AIA) accredited online training course, “Sustainability and Vehicle Maintenance Lifts.”

The course reviews the various kinds of vehicle lifts available and the environmental considerations surrounding them. The primary focus is on environmentally friendly in-ground lifts. The course covers the evolution of vehicle lifts, technologies that protect the environment, sustainable alternatives, and safety considerations when specifying vehicle lifts. At the conclusion of the course, an architect should be comfortable making informed, code-compliant vehicle lift recommendations that also address government agencies’ environmental concerns.

“Proper lift selection can play an important role in meeting agencies’ needs for increased sustainability and minimal environmental impact,” says John Rylee, Vehicle Service Group (VSG) marketing director. “For example, some modern inground lifts eliminate leakage concerns, use significantly less hydraulic fluid than other models and are compatible with bio-based hydraulic fluid. Rotary Lift invented the environmentally friendly inground lift category with the introduction of the SmartLift™ inground lift in 1995. As we celebrate SmartLift’s 15th anniversary, Rotary continues to help educate the industry about the role vehicle lifts can play in helping agencies meet their green goals while maximizing service bay productivity.”

Rotary Lift is an approved AIA continuing education provider and offers additional training courses for architects, facility planners and design engineers through the Rotary Lift assistPRO™ professional facility planning assistance program. The program’s free facility planning assistance includes customized layouts, CAD blocks, BIM models and exclusive written specifications available through the ARCAT® SpecWizard® online product configurator.

“Sustainability and Vehicle Maintenance Lifts” is course number RV977 with education provider RedVector. Access the course for free with a coupon code available online.
