MICHIGAN — ROUSH CleanTech heads to the 2011 National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo to speak with 2,500 industry professionals about their innovative propane autogas technology created for light- and medium-duty Ford trucks and vans. The event will be held April 16 to 18 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Keynote speaker Joe Thompson, ROUSH CleanTech’s president, will embrace the theme “Racing Into the Future With Propane Autogas.” On April 16 at 4 p.m. EST, he will discuss how being a part of the world’s most-winning name in racing translates into becoming the foremost experts in alternative engine fuel system development.
“There’s a certain reputation people think of when they hear the name Roush,’” Thompson said. “Jack Roush is a legend on the track with top-performing Ford NASCAR teams. Now he’s put his expertise into creating fuel systems that not only reduce harmful emissions in the environment and save customers money, but will also perform at the same high standards synonymous with the ‘Roush’ name.
“ROUSH CleanTech has developed the knowledge and skills to create engines that provide a domestic fuel solution to America’s energy crisis. With 90 percent of the propane used nationally being produced in the United States, operating a fleet on propane autogas eases our nation’s foreign dependence on oil.”
Several examples of ROUSH CleanTech’s propane autogas products will be on the show floor. A Ford E-series cargo van will be displayed in the Propane Education & Research Council’s (PERC) booth No. 311. The company’s newest workhorse, a 6.8-liter V10 propane autogas powered Ford F-550 Super Duty chassis cab designed to suit a wide range of uses, including dump, landscape, flatbed, construction, waste, utility, freight, and more will be in the Knapheide booth No. T1445. A MicroBird G5 school bus, with space for 30 passengers, will be showcased in the “Propane Innovation” section for those looking for larger-capacity transportation vehicles.
“ROUSH CleanTech’s line of propane autogas powered Ford F-series trucks and E-series vans, developed with support from the Propane Education & Research Council, are workhorses on the road and make economical sense on paper,” Thompson said. “The ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas fuel system is a safe, reliable, and affordable way for fleet managers to reduce their carbon footprint.”
