Safety Vision, LLC Hires Alan Mann as Director of Sales for Driver Behavior Modification Solutions

HOUSTON — Safety Vision, a global provider of mobile video surveillance technology, today announced the appointment of Alan Mann as Director of Sales for the company’s driver behavior modification solution. Currently, that solution centers on the two-camera, windshield-mounted SafeDrive MiniDVR™ event recorder but will expand to include other multicamera and DVR platforms. Mann joined the Houston-headquartered surveillance technology firm in April and is based in southern California, bringing the number of Safety Vision satellite offices to eight.

Mann brings a proven track record of progressive sales results with high-technology companies including Data General, Sun Microsystems, and DriveCam, having directly managed 80 sales reps in achieving over $200 million in business. As VP of Sales, Mann was instrumental in growing and leading the DriveCam sales force for 6 years, during which time the company saw sales increase from 2,000 units annually to over 30,000 units annually. Most recently, Mann was VP of Sales for SleepSafe Drivers, providing sales and marketing leadership for a groundbreaking provider of sleep apnea testing and treatment solutions.

Mann sees a bright future with Safety Vision: “This is an exciting time to come onboard, as I believe Safety Vision has a unique opportunity to provide a ‘best of breed’ driver behavior modification solution. Safety Vision’s customers will benefit by being able to more efficiently identify those drivers and driving behaviors that expose the organization to heightened risk. The inclusion of video recordings empowers fleet safety personnel to present the actual driving situation and driver response back to the driver in a counseling situation. This leads to a lessening of erratic driving behaviors, which translates to significantly lowered accident costs over time. In addition, the video yields impartial evidence of what happened in an accident, providing potential exoneration and claims settlement advantages, which translate to big savings for customers.”

Says Safety Vision VP of Sales Rex Colorado, “We are energized by Alan’s arrival and enthused by his vision of the future. Nobody’s worked in the driver behavior modification industry longer, and nobody knows fleet managers’ safety performance needs better. And he’s convinced that our SafeDrive MiniDVR exception reporting and event recording solution is precisely what they want. As with all our mobile surveillance solutions, we are focused on helping our customers reduce risk, cut costs, improve operations, and save lives. Alan will be key to helping us deliver those benefits to myriad fleets across the geographic and mobile landscapes.”

Other than the years he spent earning his B.S. and MBA from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Mann has lived his entire life in California. He will support far-flung Safety Vision customers from his home base in San Diego, where he, his wife Cella, and their young daughter Olivia “share space with a houseful of pets.” Alan also has two older children, Alana and Drew.
