Elkhart, IN – Spheros North America, a world leader in the manufacturing of HVAC bus equipment broke ground April 15, 2015 on its new 135,000 square foot facility which will house ACC Climate Control offices, a test laboratory, production assembly, and metal fabrication plant. Spheros will be investing $9.95 million on the new building located at 22150 Challenger Drive, Elkhart, IN 46517. Helmut Scheid; CTO Spheros, Franz Foth; CSO Spheros, Heiko Baufeld CEO Spheros North America, and Casey Cummings; CEO ACC Climate Control were all in attendance.

This facility will provide Spheros North America the space to expand on the current capabilities of their recent acquisition of ACC Climate Controls. The current Environmental Chamber will increase in size and capabilities. Key additions will be a state of the art Turrett punch with full robotic load / unload capabilities and finally increasing space for assembly and manufacturing of Spheros CC 145 & 335 / 355 air conditioning systems and roof hatches. The new building is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Casey Cummings, CEO ACC Climate Control stated, “The new facility allows us to double production and warehouse space. Currently Spheros North America imports transit bus air conditioning systems from various manufacturing plants around the world. Now they will be manufactured in the US reducing time to market and placing Spheros in a very competitive position in the North American bus industry.”

Heiko Baufeld, CEO Spheros North America said, “Expanding and capitalizing on the virtues brought to Spheros with the acquisition of ACC Climate Controls this facility enhances our market position as a local and global HVAC competitor in the school/shuttle, coach and transit bus industry. We are truly excited about this expansion project as it will not only allow us to
