Stertil-Koni Introduces New Full Rise Telescopic Piston Lift

STEVENSVILLE, Md. — As trucks and buses across North America grow ever larger and heavier, vehicle lift leader Stertil-Koni USA Inc. has once again risen to the challenge with the introduction of a new model of the company’s widely deployed, full rise, inground telescopic piston lift, the DIAMOND LIFT, now with even greater lifting capacity.

Called the “DIAMOND 70,” the new lift is available in either a two- or three-piston configuration with a total lifting capacity of 35,000 pounds per piston, hence 70,000 pounds with two pistons and 105,000 pounds with three pistons respectively. The new lift complements the DIAMOND LIFT series, which includes the DIAMOND 64 (available in a two- and three-piston configuration with a lifting capacity of 32,000 pounds per piston—thus 64,000 pounds (two pistons) and 96,000 pounds (three pistons) respectively.

Rolling off the production line at Stertil-Koni’s recently expanded manufacturing facility in Streator, Illinois, DIAMOND LIFT 70 features advanced telescopic pistons that protect all the critical seals from potential damage by debris. Further, the DIAMOND LIFT piston rods are hard-chrome plated for maximum protection against corrosion and wear, and thus optimized to handle the harsh environments of today’s busy workshops. Further, the lift is certified to ANSI/ALI ALCTV current edition.

As part of the new model introduction, Stertil-Koni is making the DIAMOND 70 available in both a “cassette” and “frame” version. In the cassette model, the upper portion of the steel containment is hot-dip galvanized, which provides corrosion resistance at floor level and ensures proper interlock with the foundation. In addition, the containments are coated internally and externally with DiamondGuard, which not only safeguards against corrosion and electrolysis, it also prohibits shop fluids from entering the environment.

The DIAMOND can also be ordered in a frame version. It too is hot-dip galvanized and uniquely works with existing concrete vaults and has been specifically engineered for concrete foundations, making it ideal for replacement situations.

Both the frame and cassette versions feature a shallow install depth, utilize biodegradable hydraulic fluid as standard—with less than five gallons per piston—and deliver a corrosion-free durable aluminum trench cover system with full drive-over load capacity as standard. A free-standing, above-ground control console ensures quick, easy access for service and maintenance.

In terms of safety, the DIAMOND LIFT features an industry-changing mechanical locking system that utilizes a hardened, nitro-carburized locking rod to provide superior resistance to corrosion and wear. The DIAMOND LIFT is also one of the few piston-style in-ground lifts designed to allow the lift to be lowered into a mechanically locked situation without placing undesired pressures on the piston seals. The gravity engaged locking assembly is easy to service and can be accessed from floor level.

“The DIAMOND LIFT represents the very best in a heavy-duty in-ground piston lifting system; and, that’s precisely why the North American marketplace has embraced this technology so wholeheartedly. Now, by creating a new lift model, DIAMOND 70, Stertil-Koni continues a proud tradition of providing our customers with what we call ‘Freedom of Choice’—the opportunity to select the broadest range, highest quality heavy during vehicle lifting system to meet all their specific requirements,” said Stertil-Koni USA Inc. President Jean DellAmore.
